SuperSonic Online was originally founded in 1996 by Dan
Pratt and Michael Marquardt and was known as DM Software Company. In 1997, Ken Crouser entered the fold, and the
name was changed to DMK Software. Shortly thereafter, the company released it's first freeware program, a computer
version of the Hangman word-guessing game, along with an installer program called TurboInstall 1.0.
1998 saw quite a bit of action for DMK Software. In the first quarter
of the year, the company was renamed to SuperSonic Industries to encompass the electronics and movie studio that
merged at that time.
In 2001, the electronics division was phased out and the movie studio
was reduced to making live-action cut-scenes for games that were then in progress. Dan Pratt also left the fold,
in pursuit of a career in other areas.
In 2002, SuperSonic Industries saw it's first online project, which
was hosting a game server for a group of Unreal Tournament players. This shifted the company's focus dramatically,
and work started on a new hosting service, UnrealityServices.com. Around the same time, however, Ken Crouser decided
to pursue other interests.
In January, 2003, the company decided to pursue the Internet services market, and it's name changed yet again.
Work began on the company's home page and service. In April the same year we also began work on a web site design
service, SuperSonic Designs. Requests or web sites began to roll in.
In Early 2003 Randal Villines entered the scene heading the web design division of SuperSonic-Online with SuperSonic-Designs.
SuperSonic Online finally went active July 31, 2003.
Shortly after going active, Ken Crouser decided to re-apply for SuperSonic Designs. His application was accepted.
